Dennis Turriff PhD PEng joins MEA’s Toronto office as a Senior Engineer in the Product and Property Groups. He has expertise in metallurgy and materials science with an emphasis on microstructural, mechanical, and thermal characterization of numerous metallic and non-metallic materials. This includes phase transformations during materials processing including welding, brazing, soldering, heat treating, plating, forming as well as failure analysis.  Prior to joining MEA, Dennis was an instructor within the Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering Department at the University of Waterloo.

Research into the validity of tribometer measurements for assessing the potential of slipping is published in the Journal of Forensic Science. This research was done in collaboration with Dr. Chris Powers of the Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Research Laboratory at the University of Southern California and Jim Flynn of J2 Engineering.
