The Ontario Trial Lawyers Association presents its annual Fall conference on Friday, October 22. Titled The Other Side of Midnight: Post Pandemic Practice, the virtual conference is packed full of personal injury law sessions presented by industry leaders. OTLA’s Fall conference is a full day of educational presentations and panel discussions from experienced legal professionals and the bench. The multiple sessions will provide attendees knowledge, skills, tips & tricks to further their legal career and optimize benefits for their firm and clients in a post-pandemic world. The keynote address, Trial by Human: Connecting with your Clients and Maximizing Damages, is delivered by Nicholas Rowley of Carpenter, Zuckerman & Rowley. The Conference is chaired by Elaine Bright of Pace Law Firm, Adam Wagman of Howie, Sacks & Henry LLP, Barbara MacFarlane of MD Lawyers, and Joanna Eubanks of Shah Eubanks PC.
As testifying experts, we were particularly interested in the topic of the breakfast roundtable: Preserving the Integrity of your Expert’s Independence. Attendees also expect to learn about emerging issues in accident benefits, details on the new contingency fee agreement rules, and preparing clients from diverse backgrounds to give evidence during examinations. The Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) is a non-profit association for plaintiff lawyers and staff of Ontario, Canada. It was formed in 1991 and is currently over 1500 members strong. They aim to champion and advocate for the rights of those who have suffered injury and loss through the wrongdoing of others.
