The conference, created by and for Plaintiffs’ Counsel, is held on Friday, October 28, at the Metro Toronto Convention Center.
Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) are found in most modern vehicles. They are meant to protect drivers and their passengers by keeping vehicles on the road and at a safe distance from hazards. In some instances, these systems can even brake or steer, which can give a driver the impression that the vehicle is equipped to drive itself. As with all new technologies, these systems are evolving and are changing the evaluation of liability in Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA).
At MEA Forensic, we are conducting research on ADAS capabilities and limitations. Craig Wilkinson will explain what self-driving technology has changed in the world of MVA, what new data vehicles are collecting from the systems, and what collision reconstructions experts can say about crashes involving cars equipped with ADAS. The Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) is a non-profit association for plaintiff lawyers and staff of Ontario, Canada. It was formed in 1991 and is currently over 1500 members strong. They aim to champion and advocate for the rights of those who have suffered injury and loss through the wrongdoing of others.
The 2022 OTLA Fall Conference consists of a series of educational presentations, and includes panel discussions with experienced legal colleagues and members of the bench. Attendees seek to acquire the knowledge, skills, and best practices to further their legal career, and increase the benefits to their firm and clients.
