Dr. Benjamin Elkin investigates injuries across a range of scenarios, including motor vehicle collisions, slip, trip, and fall incidents, and sporting activities, assessing whether reported injuries from mild to catastrophic are consistent with the forces involved. Alongside his casework, Ben conducts research on brain injury and slip, trip, and fall incidents. He plays an active role in the development of ASTM standards for walkway safety, having served as Chair of the ASTM F13 Committee on Pedestrian/Walkway Safety and Footwear for six years and currently leading the F13.40 Research Subcommittee.
Dennis Chimich has investigated thousands of cases involving vehicle collisions, slips and falls, product failures, and sporting events, and often testifies as an expert witness in court. His work focuses on analyzing how injuries occur by examining the motions, forces, and mechanisms involved, with particular expertise in slip, trip, and fall incidents. He has conducted and published research on the accuracy and uncertainty of walkway friction measurements, and contributes to ongoing research examining how stairway defects impact the risk of falls.
Dr. John Gardiner specializes in the reconstruction of complex incidents, including automobile collisions, falls, sports injuries, and shooting incidents. In cases involving video evidence, he works alongside MEA Forensic’s video analysis specialists and integrates video findings with physical evidence, medical imaging, and post-incident documentation to reconstruct the sequence of events and assess body position and movement. With over two decades of experience, John is frequently called upon to determine whether injuries are consistent with the available evidence and testimonies andprovide expert testimony.
