The Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association presents its first in-person event of the year: Plaintiffs’ Only, ACTLA’s Spring Seminar, is held in Calgary on March 21st and in Edmonton on March 23rd. Our expert in Injury Biomechanics Dennis Chimich, both a University of Alberta and a University of Calgary alumnus, is excited to visit Alberta, attend the seminars and reconnect with friends and clients in the province.
ACTLA’s Plaintiffs’ Only Seminar brings experts from across the country to discuss the many aspects of personal injury law, starting with an update on the Albertan insurance industry’s proposals for reforms and ACTLA’s lobbying, outreach and fundraising efforts. The program also covers Judicial Dispute Resolution, Fatal Accident, WCB Claims and SEF 44 Matters Litigation, Practice Management, the MVA Claims Fund and Slips & Falls, one of Dennis Chimich’s specialties. The Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association (ACTLA) was founded in the Spring of 1986 as a non-profit society dedicated to the objectives of advancing the science of Jurisprudence, training in all fields and phases of Advocacy, upholding the honour and dignity of the profession of Law, encouraging brotherhood and sisterhood among the members of the bar, upholding and improving the adversary system and trial by jury, and promoting the administration of justice and the public good. Its mission is to advocate for a strong civil justice system that protects the rights of all Albertans.
