Mark Bailey leads both our Aviation and Failure Analysis groups from our Vancouver office. He has investigated thousands of accidents, failures, and losses over the last 30 years, determining root and contributing causes of failures in aircraft, vehicles, industrial equipment, building components, and consumer products. His background in mechanical and metallurgical engineering and his expertise on a range of techniques such as microscopy, metallography, fractography, stress analysis, and simulation make Mark a key asset in product liability cases. Dr. Dennis Turriff is a senior engineer, and leads MEA Forensic’s Failure Analysis group in Toronto. His background in both materials science and mechanical engineering help him isolate the root cause of failure in a wide variety of incidents involving industrial equipment, consumer products, plumbing, fire protection systems, medical devices and vehicles. Stephanie Bonin, PhD PE

Dr. Stephanie Bonin analyzes injuries in cases involving product failure, workplace accidents, slip and falls, helmet protection, brain injury, and automobile collisions. A senior biomechanical engineer, she can assess the causal relationship between an event and an injury by comparing forces applied to the body in an incident to the mechanism and threshold of injury. In product liability cases, while the cause of an injury is rarely called into question, the analysis of the injury pattern can reveal the crucial details needed to answer questions related to usage, codes and standards.
