Jahvanna at the Middlesex Law Association’s 2023 Conference

The Middlesex Law Association presents its annual Straight from the Bench Conference May 1st in London, Ontario, the association’s first in-person event since 2019. MEA Forensic is happy to sponsor the program, and Jahvanna Ryan will be at our bright red booth on the exhibit floor.

The program agenda is brought forward by the event’s co-chairs, Rasha El-Tawil of Siskinds, John Nicholson of Cohen Highley, Evelyn ten Cate of Fosters Law, and Dara Lambe of Lerners. It includes panels on Mentorship, Advocacy Tips for Motions, Pre-trials & Trials, and Appellate Advocacy: Best Practices at the Court of Appeal. Attendees will also benefit from presentations offered by members of the Middlesex Law Association and experts from the regional judiciary. During lunch, the Honourable George R. Strathy will take the floor to discuss how it’s time for a culture change in the legal profession when it comes to mental health. Mr. Strathy is a retired Chief Justice of Ontario and President of the Court of Appeal for Ontario. Consult the Middlesex Law Association’s website for the full program.

The Middlesex Law Association (MLA) is a professional association of lawyers based in Middlesex County. Founded in 1879, it provides numerous support services for the local bar, including a legal reference library, professional development and networking opportunities, and social events.
