Colloquium is a Continuing Professional Development event for lawyers in northeastern Ontario organized by a committee of legal professionals. MEA is a sponsor of the 2019 edition taking place October 16-19 in Sudbury, Ontario, and our Senior Scientist Ken Iliadis is attending the event.
It is the ninth annual Colloquium, inviting lawyers from all over the northeastern part of the province to connect. Attendees are expecting educational sessions on topics such as advocacy, child protection, civil litigation, construction law, criminal law, estates, family law, indigenous legal issues, law firm management and real estate. The program also includes a mentoring session for young lawyers and various networking events. Evidence, one of our favorite topic at MEA, will also be discussed in a session chaired by Robert Parsons, Crown Attorney. This specific session’s program is as follow:
The Evidence of Similar Fact vs. Narrative
Justice John Paul Condon, Ontario Court of Justice
Robert Parsons, Crown Attorney
Michael Venturi, Weaver Simmons LLP
Evidence and Technology
Alan Gold, Alan D. Gold Professional Corporation

The Colloquium 2019 steering committee is made up of lawyers from Northeastern Ontario that understand the needs and value of quality programming for the north. More information about Colloquium and materials related to previous editions can be found on their website.
