The Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association is holding its 2020 Professional Development and Claims Conference on January 22, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. MEA is proud to support the organization and sponsors the conference every year. A group of MEA engineers are attending this first OIAA event of 2020. Visit our booth thorough the day to connect with Dennis and Chris from our failure analysis group, ask Tom about your collision reconstruction cases, or discuss injury biomechanics with Ben. Seize the opportunity to meet our new client relations coordinator in Toronto, Jahvanna Ryan.
The Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association (OIAA) is a non-profit association founded in 1930; through the decades its members have worked together to question, shape, change and develop claims adjustment and risk management services in Ontario. Among other events, the OIAA hosts a yearly Claims Conference providing education, enrichment and networking opportunities to all its members.
This year’s conference includes 9 seminars on various topics presented by lawyers and experts, the first of which is an overview of the top 10 cases at the Licence Appeal Tribunal (LAT) for 2019 – the good, the bad and the very ugly – by Philippa Samworth and Andrea Lim of Dutton Brock LLP. Emerging contaminants in property claims, insuring against cybercrime and a senior leadership roundtable discussion on changes in claims are also on the menu. The schedule and details on each presentation are found on the OIAA’s website.
