The Kingston-Ottawa Out of Town Meeting Committee of the Ontario Insurance Adjusters Association (OIAA) presents KO in the Capital, the 2019 Claims Conference, May 2-3 at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa. The boxing ring themed event, featuring guest speaker Bruce Cooke, offers pannels on sports, head and AB-BI CAT injury, a medical and recreational marijuana seminar, tips on how to prep an expert for trial and a presentation titled “Investigator vs Engineer”. Benjamin Elkin is attending the Trade Show, come by and say hello.
The OIAA was founded in 1931 to be a forum where “staff claims men” with mutual problems could share experiences and learn from each other. The association accepted its first female members in 1972, including Marg Preston of the Toronto TTC, who was elected the first woman president of OIAA in 1979.
Through the decades, the members of OIAA have worked together to question, shape, change and develop claims adjustment and risk management services in Ontario —and will continue to do so in the years ahead.
