MEA Forensic Engineers Participate in OBA’s Anatomy of a Trial

The Ontario Bar Association (OBA) hosts its signature event, Anatomy of a Trial: Taking the Plunge into a Jury Trial, on May 28–29, 2026, at the OBA Conference Centre in Toronto. This unique program gives litigators the opportunity to observe a live mock jury trial featuring members of the bench, experienced trial counsel, expert witnesses, and jurors in a realistic courtroom setting. MEA Forensic is pleased to participate in this educational program. Be sure to stop by to connect with our team and enter our draw for a chance to win a pair of Ray-Ban Meta glasses.

Chaired by Brian Bangay of Desjardins General Insurance Group Inc., Lindsay Charles of McLeish Orlando LLP, Katherine Di Tomaso of Stieber Berlach LLP, and Troy Lehman of Oatley Vigmond LLP, the program features two days of live demonstrations and practical advocacy training focused on a catastrophic occupiers’ liability jury trial involving a spinal cord injury at a resort. MEA Forensic experts Dr. Benjamin Elkin and Pamela D’Addario will participate as plaintiff expert witnesses in biomechanics and human factors engineering, while Craig Wilkinson will appear as the defendant engineering expert witness. Attendees will observe opening and closing statements, direct and cross-examinations of expert witnesses, evidentiary motions, jury deliberation issues, and judicial commentary from members of the Ontario bench. The agenda concludes with a discussion on artificial intelligence and trial advocacy. View the full program agenda here: OBA Anatomy of a Trial Program Agenda
