The Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA) International presents its 36th Annual Training Symposium from October 27–31, 2025 at The Coeur d’Alene Resort in Idaho. MEA Forensic’s video analysis expert Cole Young will deliver one of the educational presentations at the symposium.
In his presentation titled 3D and 2D Stabilization for Video Analysis and Demonstrative Exhibits, Cole will show attendees how efficient, accurate stabilization helps experts interpret body-worn, dash, and surveillance video when subjects appear in an inconvenient portion of the frame or shift rapidly when the camera shakes. Drawing on case examples from officer-involved incidents and collision reconstruction, he will walk through practical 2D workflows (stabilization and enlargement) using Adobe After Effects and SynthEyes, a powerful software program originally created for match-moving in the film industry that can also handle many problems frequently encountered by video analysis experts. He will also share more complex workflows that account for 3D camera movement using SynthEyes, 3ds Max, and Adobe After Effects.
LEVA is a non-profit that provides globally recognized training and certification in the science of forensic video analysis, serving the public-safety community with professional development through quality training and information exchange. The 36th Annual Training Symposium offers approximately 40 hours of specialized instruction, featuring multiple concurrent sessions, hands-on workshops and vendor exhibits covering topics from digital multimedia evidence processing, photogrammetry, video authentication and advanced workflow analysis.
