Craig, Ben and Jahvanna attend OTLA 2022 Spring conference

The Ontario Trial Lawyers Association presents its 2022 Spring Conference on May 13th, 2022.  Better than Ever: Inspired Strategies for our New Normal is a full day of innovative sessions on personal injury law, presented by leaders in the industry. Registrants are invited to choose between attending virtually, or in-person at Metro Toronto Convention Center, where they will find MEA Forensic’s Craig Wilkinson, Ben Elkin, and Jahvanna Ryan at booth 418.

The OTLA Spring Conference consists of a series of educational presentations, and includes panel discussions with experienced legal colleagues and members of the bench. Attendees seek to acquire the knowledge, skills, and best practices to further their legal career, and increase the benefits to their firm and clients in a post-pandemic world. The conference is chaired by Brenda Hollingsworth of Auger Hollingsworth, Sandev Purewal of Gluckstein Lawyers, Nital Gosai of Gosai Law, and Joanna Sweet of Greg Monforton & Partners.

A topic we are particularly fond of will be discussed shortly before lunch, as Joel McCoy of Bergmanis Preyra LLP will present Avoiding Potholes and Trip Hazards: Three Issues That Can Make or Break Your Premises Liability Cases. Attendees dealing with slip, trip & fall cases and premises liability will be happy to connect with Dr Ben Elkin at our booth. Ben is an expert in injury biomechanics and slips, trips and falls; he is also the chair of the ASTM F13 Committee on Pedestrian/Walkway Safety and Footwear, working to improve the protocols for friction measurement used to address questions about the slipperiness of the walking surfaces involved in fall incidents. Dr Elkin also conducts and publishes research on the biomechanics of brain injury, currently focusing on the response of the brain to head impacts and other indirect exposures that have been associated with concussions.

You will find Craig, Ben and Jahvanna at booth number 418 – Our team also has a unique Find, Submit & Win code to share with attendees collecting conference points. Virtual attendees that would like to connect with our experts, or those interested in watching the recording our our most recent Slips, Trips & Falls presentations, can contact Jahvanna by email.
