The Consumer Attorneys of California, its Inland Empire chapter, and the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association are joining forces again this year to present their annual Palm Springs Seminar, a two-day event hosted in Rancho Mirage, CA on May 5-6, 2023. MEA Forensic is happy to support the program, and our engineers Dave King and Ian Miller will be spending the weekend with the attendees on the exhibitors’ floor.
The 2023 program is packed with interesting sessions for attorneys and paralegals on a wide variety of topics, from discovery tactics and trial preparations to challenges working with imperfect clients and the work that comes after a case settles. Attendees also have access to valuable professional development advice, including tips on improving writing skills, business development for solos and small firms, and a “mini med school” course for lawyers. Of course, as experts, our favorite session is on how to find, prepare, and depose an expert, presented by Ricardo Echeverria of Shernoff Bidart Echeverria LLP, Brian Chase of Bisnar | Chase Personal Injury Attorneys LLP, and Minh Nguyen of Nguyen Theam LLP. In his keynote address delivered on Saturday, Yoshiaki Kubota, founding partner of Kubota & Craig PC Trial Attorneys and former president of OCTLA, will talk about the “Audacity of Being Selfless”.
The Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (OCTLA)’s mission is to protect the rights of people who have been harmed by the wrongful acts of others, by providing superior education and training for attorneys, access to the collective resources of their members, and promotion and support of laws which correct injustice and protect access to the civil justice system.
The Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) is a professional organization of lawyers whose clients face opponents with more power and access to resources: Big polluters, insurance companies, automobile manufacturers and banks. CAOC members take only those cases they view as worthy, invest their own resources in pushing those cases to court and are paid under the contingency fee system only if their clients achieve a successful result. The 2023 Palm Springs Seminar was created in collaboration with CAOIE, the Inland Empire chapter of the CAOC.
