Dr. Carolyn Roberts presents Inter- and Intra-Subject Variance in Lumbar Disc Heights and Joint Ranges Across Four Seated and Standing Postures, Dr. Stephanie Bonin presents Description of Equestrian Accidents and Implications on Testing of Equestrian Safety Vests and The Effect of Torso Protectors During Equestrian Falls, and Dr. Gunter Siegmund presents The Effect of Missed Diagnoses and Underreporting on Concussion Injury Risk Functions at the 2024 International Research Council on Biomechanics of Injury (IRCOBI) Europe conference on September 11th and 12th, 2024. The conference, held at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden September 11-13, brings together an international group of researchers, scientists, and experts in injury biomechanics. MEA Forensic’s Dr. John Gardiner, Dennis Chimich and Dr. Naveen Jasty are also attending.
Since 1973, IRCOBI has been conducting an annual international scientific conference in Europe to review new knowledge on human tolerance to impact as gleaned from field accident studies, experimental research and experience from current occupant protection systems and devices. It has also sponsored specialized conferences and seminars on such topics as trauma to children, two-wheel vehicle users, and pedestrian protection. The peer-reviewed proceedings of these meetings are recognized internationally as an important source of knowledge on impact biomechanics and crash injury studies.
