Ian Miller works in MEA’s Collision Reconstruction group in our Los Angeles office. He routinely locates and recovers digital evidence including stills and video from a wide range of sources, such as vehicle event data recorders and infotainment systems, body cams and dash cams, surveillance systems and mobile devices. A LEVA Certified Forensic Video Technician, he can determine the locations, orientations, movements and speeds of objects and people recorded on video using a combination of 3D graphics software and laser scans.

Cole Young leads MEA Forensic’s Video Analysis group in the US, work that often involves correcting optical distortion, stabilizing shaky footage, and integrating video with measurements taken at the scene, 3D scans, drone imagery and 3D models to produce clear, reliable interpretations of events. He has applied these methods to collisions, shootings, slip, trip and fall incidents, industrial events and other scenarios where understanding motion and timing is critical. Cole has completed hundreds of hours of specialized training and now contributes to training other experts in advanced forensic video analysis techniques.

Thomas Flynn leads MEA Forensic’s Video Analysis group in Canada. He specializes in using engineering principles and scene geometry to interpret what video evidence shows, quantifying motion, timing and visibility in complex events. Tom has completed hundreds of hours of specialized training in forensic video analysis and has applied his methods in hundreds of investigations involving both physical and digital evidence. His research on object-tracking and measurement techniques has been published internationally, and he has been invited to present his work at professional conferences including SAE in Detroit and the EVU Congress in Romania.
