Alongside casework, Dr. Ben Elkin conducts research on brain injury and slip, trip and fall incidents. He served as chair of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) F13 Committee on Pedestrian/Walkway Safety and Footwear for six years, and now leads the F13.40 Research Subcommittee,. He continues his work to improve ASTM standards and the reliability of walkway friction measurements, supporting the design, maintenance, and investigation of safe walking surfaces.

Dennis Chimich has investigated thousands of forensic cases and testified as an expert witness. His slip, trip, and fall analyses assess surface conditions, walkway friction, and injury mechanics. He has tested tribometers—the devices used to measure walkway friction—gaining key insights into accuracy, reliability, and user error. His research interest also includes helmet impact performance, whiplash, occupant kinematics, and knee injury biomechanics.

Dr. Allen Yu applies biomechanics to analyze how forces interact with the human body and whether reported injuries align with an event’s mechanics. He holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University, where his neurotrauma research spanned military biomechanics, sport-related concussions, vehicle safety, and protective equipment. His work deepens the understanding of traumatic injuries and supports prevention strategies.
