Alan Mitchell
MSLaboratory Manager & Research Engineer
Alan Mitchell manages MEA Forensic’s primary laboratory in California. He supports the firm’s engineers and scientists by ensuring that the right tools and resources are available for testing, for casework or research. Whether coordinating with MEA’s other labs, sourcing specialized equipment, or developing custom test setups, Alan plays a key role in enabling high-quality forensic analysis.
Alan holds a Bachelor’s in Mechanical engineering from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and a Master’s from the University of California, Irvine, where he focused on dynamics and control systems. Prior to joining MEA, he worked in the semiconductor industry, developing sensing and data acquisition systems. His background provides a strong foundation for his current work designing and developing instrumentation at MEA Forensic.
MEA’s commitment to scientific integrity drew Alan to the firm. “We don’t take sides, we focus on finding the truth,” he says. “By designing and building test equipment that allows accurate data collection, I help ensure our engineers can provide reliable conclusions, grounded in science. In other words: Good data leads to good answers.”
