The American Society of Biomechanics (ASB), the Canadian Society of Biomechanics/Société canadienne de biomécanique (CSB/SCB), and the European Society of Biomechanics (ESB) are hosting the 10th World Congress of Biomechanics from July 11–15 at the Vancouver Convention Centre in British Columbia. MEA Forensic’s Injury Biomechanics experts are attending the event, which brings together researchers, engineers, clinicians, and industry professionals to share the latest advances through keynote lectures, scientific sessions, poster presentations, education sessions, and networking events spanning the many disciplines of biomechanics.
The scientific program covers a broad range of topics, including injury biomechanics, clinical biomechanics, musculoskeletal biomechanics, rehabilitation biomechanics, human movement and performance, orthopaedic biomechanics, tissue engineering, biomedical devices, and computational modelling. MEA Forensic researchers are contributing to the program through a research poster, scientific session leadership, invited participation in an International Research Council on Biomechanics of Injury (IRCOBI) special session, and collaborative research presented during an oral session. The team’s contributions reflect MEA’s ongoing commitment to advancing injury biomechanics research and collaborating with researchers from academia and industry.
Held every four years, the World Congress of Biomechanics is one of the largest international congresses dedicated to biomechanics research. The congress rotates among Europe, Asia-Pacific, and North America, returning to North America only once every 12 years. WCB 2026 provides an opportunity for researchers from around the world to exchange ideas, establish collaborations, and showcase new developments that advance biomechanics research and its applications in medicine, engineering, sport, rehabilitation, and injury prevention.
